The Stadiometer Game - Learn and Practice Reading a Stadiometer
Instructions:
With this game you can learn and practice how to read measurements on a stadiometer.
The Game can be played using either an imperial (inch) scale or a metric scale. Numbers on the left side of the ruler on the height rod are inches and on the right centimeters and millimeters.
The game can be played using either a mouse or a touchscreen.
Press the Play Game button to begin playing the game.
A measurement to select will appear above the stadiometer.
Using your mouse or finger, click or tap and hold the reading window, then move it up or down until it aligns with the correct marking.
If you can't hit the exact spot, use the minus and plus icons below the height meter to adjust the stadiometer.
When you believe you have the correct answer, click or tap the 'Submit Answer' button below the stadiometer.
You will earn points for each correct answer. Your score is displayed on the left side of the Results Bar below the stadiometer.

For every 5 correct measurements, you will advance to the next level. Your current level is displayed in the Results Bar below the stadiometer.
The timer is displayed to the right of the score in the Results Bar. As time passes, the timer bar will gradually shorten.
If you don't submit a measurement before the time runs out, you will receive a strike.
You will also receive a strike for each incorrect answer. After three strikes, the game is over. The number of strikes is displayed on the right side of the Results Bar below the stadiometer.
Click the Settings button to customize your game preferences.
Timer: The default setting is On. Select Off to have unlimited time to submit your answer.
Sounds: The default setting is On. Select Off to disable all game sounds.
Unit: The default setting is "Inches". You can also choose "Metric".
Question Type: When you have selected Inch as your unit, there are two individual question type settings: "Inches" and "Feet and Inches". When "Inches" is selected, questions will includes ONLY inches. When "Feet and Inches" is selected, questions will include feet and inches. The default setting is "Both". This setting includes questions in both of the formats mentioned earlier.
When you have selected Metric as your unit, there are two individual question type settings: "Centimeters" and "Meters and Centimeters". When "Centimeters" is selected, questions will include ONLY centimeters. When "Meters and Centimeters" is selected, questions will include meters and centimeters. The default setting is "Both". This setting includes questions in both of the formats mentioned earlier.
Fractions: The default setting is Yes. In 'Inch' mode, questions will include fractions, and in 'Metric' mode, questions will include decimals. When No is selected, there will be no fractions nor decimals in questions.
Mode: The default setting is "Find". You can also select "Type". In Type mode, numbers appear below the stadiometer, and you enter the correct answer by clicking these numbers or using your keyboard. Once you've entered your answer, click "Submit Answer."
All the settings will revert to default and your score will reset if you refresh your browser.
